The Information Product Canvas has a natural left and right
The left-hand side of the canvas focusses on the BUSINESS perspective.
The right-hand side of the canvas focusses on the DELIVERY perspective.
I think of it as mapping to the idea of the left brain vs the right brain.
So if your a stakeholder focus more on the left hand side of the Canvas, it tells you the WHY.
The Vision Statement is purposely on the left.
If you are the data team, focus more on the right hand side of the Canvas, it tells you the WHAT so you can start working out the HOW.
But just like the agile manifesto both are important.
Stakeholders should focus on the WHY over the WHAT & HOW
Data teams should focus on the WHAT & HOW over the WHY
But both groups need to be able to see both sides at a glance, which is just one of the many magical things the Canvas pattern gives us.
